The Chair was created with the aim of establishing collaboration between the University of Zaragoza and the Provincial Council of Zaragoza to develop actions in the field of Development Cooperation and Education for Development and Global Citizenship:
To develop institutional cooperation between the University of Zaragoza and the Provincial Council of Zaragoza, encouraging the creation of new knowledge and promoting the dissemination of all aspects of interest in relation to Solidarity, Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship, and Development Cooperation.
To generate advanced research on the core themes of the Chair in order to promote the proper integration of the academic sphere, creating a framework for reflection between academia and civil society.
To disseminate and raise awareness about the situation of Development Cooperation and Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship in the province of Zaragoza.
To promote participatory actions linking the Sustainable Development Goals with Education for Global Citizenship, involving the citizens of the province of Zaragoza in global social and political reality.
To carry out direct and/or indirect cooperation actions in the areas covered by the agreement.
To develop a training policy focused on critical reflection on global citizenship for university students, teachers and students in non-university education, professionals from non-governmental development organisations, and political leaders.
To propose joint strategies from the University of Zaragoza in collaboration with the Provincial Council of Zaragoza for Solidarity, Local and International Sustainable Development, and Education for Global Citizenship in the areas of formal, non-formal, and informal education.
To collaborate with organised civil society in the field of Cooperation and Education for Development and Global Citizenship in order to achieve the objectives of the agreement.
