Presentation

The International Scientific Conference ‘Education for Global Citizenship and Sustainable Development in Times of Uncertainty’ is organised by the Chair of Solidarity and Global Citizenship that the University of Zaragoza holds with the Provincial Council of Zaragoza.

Given the current global social, political and economic uncertainty and complexity, it is essential to be aware of the need for practices and research focused on Education for Global Citizenship, Sustainable Development, Social Justice and the reduction of inequalities. Participating in the conference therefore offers an opportunity to reflect on educational and/or citizenship practices and research at the local, national and international levels. 

Objectives

The objectives of the Conference are:

  • To exchange educational practices in Global Citizenship Education and Sustainable Development, Citizen Science and Development Cooperation. 
  • To reflect on educational practices and research projects related to Global Citizenship Education, Sustainable Development, Citizen Science and Development Cooperation. 
  • To learn about the latest research on educational practices and research projects related to Global Citizenship Education, Sustainable Development, Citizen Science and Development Cooperation.nt.

Conference main topics

  • Citizen Science for Social Innovation
  • International Cooperation for Development

Participation in the Conference

Communications (Deadline 25 October 2025). A summary of the papers of a maximum of 500 words, following APA 7th edition guidelines, must be submitted. They must include between 4 and 5 keywords. They may be in Spanish or English. 

  • Educational practices must include the following sections: introduction, objectives, methodology, results of the intervention, discussion and/or recommendations, conclusion. 
  • Research must include the following sections: introduction, objectives, methodology, results, discussion and/or conclusion.

The two best papers will be proposed for publication in the Revista Iberoamericana de Estudios de Desarrollo Revista Iberoamericana de Estudios de Desarrollo.
